AmberSky 2026

airBaltic shines again at AmberSky 2026

For the third year in a row, airBaltic has proudly taken its place on the global stage at AmberSky 2026, standing alongside airlines from around the world and receiving an award in the Courageous Presenter category.

AmberSky gathers aviation professionals and cabin crew to exchange ideas, explore new products, and learn from each another’s experience with the shared goal of continuously enhancing the passenger experience on board. This year the event brought together representatives from 30 airlines and 42 cabin crew participants from across the industry. The event showcased the latest developments in inflight service and the ancillary revenue sector, bringing together airlines, suppliers, and experts shaping the future of onboard travel.

Over the course of three days, airline representatives met with suppliers to explore potential partnerships, evaluate products, and identify new ways to optimise onboard solutions and enhance the customer journey. Meanwhile teams of cabin crew participated in intensive training focused on sales communication, customer-centred service, relationship building, storytelling, and identifying customers’ needs. Throughout the event, crews were evaluated not only on the knowledge they put into action but also on their teamwork, collaboration, communication, and overall performance across several categories.

For airlines, participation in this event provides valuable industry insights and an opportunity to exchange experiences with peers. It’s a platform to discuss shared operational challenges, learn how other airlines approach similar situations, and explore practical solutions to strengthen onboard service and commercial performance.

airBaltic’s cabin crew team received the Courageous Presenter award, highlighting the team’s bold presentation style, creative approach to sharing ideas, and ability to engage and connect with the audience.

The organisers outlined the plan for the upcoming days, the evaluation process, and the key criteria crews should focus on during the competition. The session also included training on building customer trust and connection, in which cabin crew members exchanged ideas and perspectives with colleagues from other airlines.

The teams developed communication strategies for different customer profiles, identifying the most effective ways to approach, communicate, and connect.

Every evening, teams had the opportunity to unwind after an intense day, enjoy fun activities such as Song Bingo, and continue strengthening team spirit ahead of the next day’s competition.

As part of the competition, cabin crews also visited the trade show to connect with suppliers and to explore new products. Their task was to learn about the features and benefits of products and create a menu card linking a product to the customer.

The entertainment also brought plenty of energy to the event. When a favourite song began playing, Laura Veinberga, Dženeta Umalas (the inflight service standards manager), and the team mentor turned the moment into a spontaneous sing-along, bringing a little showtime and plenty of smiles to the evening. According to Umalas, AmberSky highlights how the airline industry continuously explores emerging trends and looks for new ways to enhance the customer experience.
