Iván Gonzalez Santirso (25) is originally from Gijón, a coastal city in Asturias, northern Spain. He joined airBaltic four and a half years ago. Travelling is his biggest passion, and photography is an activity that naturally comes with it. For Iván, it’s more about capturing moments than taking the perfect picture.

1. Iván visited Istanbul in January to experience the city from a different perspective. Without the usual crowds, it had a completely different feel. This view of the Süleymaniye Mosque from Galata Bridge on a cold, rainy day remains unforgettable.

A bustling waterfront scene at dusk with a mosque in the background, food stalls, and boats on the water, under a cloudy sky with a lone bird flying.

2. Belgrade fascinates Iván with its unique blend of modern energy and history. Within just a few blocks, the cityscape changes from creative spaces and cafés to corners where time seems to have stood still for decades. That contrast gives the city its unique character.

3. Copenhagen has an elegant yet relaxed charm. The Nyhavn district, with its colourful historic buildings and waterfront atmosphere, is instantly recognisable yet continues to mesmerise.

Colorful buildings line a waterfront with boats in the harbor, reflecting in calm water under a pink-tinged sky.

4. London’s skyline is instantly recognisable, but Iván believes the city offers much more than iconic landmarks. Its neighbourhoods have a unique soul, and it’s worth taking the time to dive deeper and discover that soul.
