Behind the scenes: A smooth, comfortable, and enjoyable experience with airBaltic!
ACMI and charter service is one of the most important aspects of airBaltic’s business. The airline offers its customers seamless operational services with a very cost-effective and modern fleet, giving it considerable advantages in this competitive market.
We invite you to meet the team who takes care of this part of airBaltic’s business as they explain what kind of services the airline can offer.

WHAT IS ACMI-OUT AND WHY IS IT A BIG PART OF airBaltic’s BUSINESS?
The ACMI-out segment is one of the core pillars of airBaltic’s business model, and it has grown rapidly since the end of the Covid-19 pandemic. ACMI stands for aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance, and it means that we lease our aircraft, experienced maintenance workers, and crews, and also cover insurance, to some of Europe’s leading carriers, including Swiss, Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines, and more. This helps them cover capacity needs while maintaining the highest operational standards.
We also partner with tour operators to provide year-round charter flights to popular leisure destinations for the Baltic markets. In addition, we deliver ad-hoc charter capacity for private customers, sports teams, and corporate clients as well as military and government flights.
This makes us a unique airline, because we offer a wide range of services in addition to serving as the flag carrier of Latvia and operating scheduled flights to major hubs across Europe and beyond.
WHAT KIND OF SERVICES CAN airBaltic OFFER TO ITS PARTNERS?
We position ourselves as a premium ACMI provider. Not many airlines in this market can offer an all-Airbus A220-300 fleet that’s both modern and fuel efficient, combined with highly experienced crews. Our operational reliability is a point of pride and is reflected in our strong punctuality and regularity. With over 30 years of hub-operation expertise, our permanently employed crews are trained to deliver precise, attentive, and customer-focused service, no matter whether passengers are flying on an airBaltic-operated flight or on behalf of one of our partners. In ACMI, every minute matters – and so does every smile. Attention to detail is deeply embedded in our service culture.
HOW EXPERIENCED IS airBaltic AT ACMI?
airBaltic brings three decades of scheduled operations experience, with a solid share of our fleet (currently around 30%) dedicated to ACMI contracts. We operate from four bases in Western Europe, providing capacity to major airlines across the continent. Our ACMI flights connect a diverse network of destinations across Europe, allowing partners to benefit from our operational flexibility and reach.
