Vacancies spotlight - Line and Base Maintenance Divisions

We are hiring: Join our Aircraft Maintenance Teams

Ensuring that our fleet is safe and functions at its best is fundamental for reliable operations, and this involves two main types of maintenance: line and base. Both are essential for aircraft safety and functionality but differ in scope and complexity. While line maintenance includes routine tasks performed between flights to keep the aircraft in safe operational condition, base maintenance, also known as heavy maintenance, involves in-depth inspections, repairs, and overhauls. These extensive tasks require more time and resources and take place at specialised facilities.

‘I still remember my first steps in aviation, back in the summer of 2012, when I first experienced an aircraft up close,’ says Kristaps Antoņēvičs, a licensed aircraft technician at airBaltic. ‘The sight of a 50-tonne aircraft lightly taking off from the ground strengthened my desire to link my career with aviation and become a licensed aircraft engineer. I’d say that our team spirit is best described as a Swiss army knife – with a broad spectrum of knowledge, skills, and competencies, we ensure smooth aircraft operations for approximately the next three years, all with great responsibility.’

Antoņēvičs also emphasises that now is the perfect time to join the company, because it is offering training opportunities for developing skills and obtaining licenses through the airBaltic Technical Academy.
