Cabin Crew

On spotlight this month: Cabin Crew

Do you know which is the most charming profession in aviation? For us, it’s the cabin crew member – the job where the sky becomes your workplace and every day offers an office view at 35,000 feet. Beyond providing outstanding service, cabin crew members also ensure the safety and security of every passenger on board.

During a two-month intensive training course, our cabin crew members master safety protocols, emergency procedures, aircraft knowledge, and top-tier service standards, earning an internationally recognised certificate. Diāna Marta Ruka, Senior Cabin Crew at airBaltic, believes that becoming a cabin crew member means embracing a truly dynamic lifestyle, which is what she values most about her job. ‘Every day brings something new,’ she says. ‘Different colleagues, passengers, destinations, and even weather conditions. It’s never a routine; it feels more like an adventure every time I step on board.’

There are plenty more things Diāna Marta loves about her job. She highlights the opportunity for growth, as she now also works as a line trainer and ground instructor manager. She explains that she joined the company with no clear idea of where the journey would take her, but it’s been an incredible ride since day one. ‘The whole aviation industry opens up to you. It’s like stepping into a room with a hundred doors. There are so many possibilities,’ she says.

Diāna Marta also treasures interacting with passengers, finding joy in making them feel cared for and valued. And, of course, exploring the world, which is something every cabin crew member cherishes. ‘Travelling is so accessible when you’re in this industry,’ she says. ‘I’ve been fortunate to visit so many amazing places, and it’s a constant reminder of how lucky I am to experience the world in ways most people can only dream of.’

If you also dream of a career above the clouds, don’t hesitate to apply. We’re looking for adventurous individuals to join our Cabin Crew team not only in Riga, but also at our bases in Tallinn and Vilnius. Let’s fly together!
